Drawing cats

Here's an exercise I did from Anne DeMille Flood's excellent book "Realistic Pet Portraits in Colored Pencil" on how to get the glow of a cat's eye. Done in Prismacolor pencils on Stonehenge paper.

This is my own Pookie, in graphite pencil on Stonehenge paper.

SWAPPING along

Here are my first pieces for SWAP. The white top is Simplicity #3887 (the bruises are from paragliding!). The lower edge of the top has elastic in it just like the sleeves. It's made from a sheer cotton with raised dots on it. I'm wearing a camisole because it's pretty see-through.

Then I finished the pants, a self-drafted pattern from a pair of pants I like. These are from a wool/lycra blend.

Since I don't have a serger, here's what I did with the seams.

Onward . . . to a shirtdress, Vogue #8021. I'll do the shorter version, in black.
