Labrador in Pencil

Another finished drawing. This was an exercise in drawing the full body of a dog. I think the labrador makes a fine subject. The image is kind of gray looking. Must be my photographic skills because it's a bright sunny day here. The eyes on this one gave me some trouble as they were very dark in the original and did not have much depth. Next time my reference photograph will be one in which the eyes are a main feature--that always makes for a more striking result.


This was done in graphite on 11 x 16" Arches paper, I believe.
