Ravelry!

I finally received an invitation to join Ravelry. I wasn't expecting it at all because I only just put my name in, and at that time, I was number seven-thousand-something on the list. For those who don't know, the Ravelry website is "a place for knitters, crocheters, designers, spinners, and dyers to keep track of their yarn, tools and pattern information, and look to others for ideas and inspiration." What I'm really finding inspiring is being able to look at everyone's knitting projects, finding new things I'd never seen before, and getting the inside story on anything I'm interested in starting (pattern errata and other tips). I'm finding it quite fascinating and already have a corral of favorites and coveted sweaters.
So I'm in the process of loading my projects into the system--FO's, WIPs, things on my wish list--and categorizing my stash. Stay tuned!

Christmas commission

At last, I have something to post about. This is a drawing I finished just in time for Christmas, a very cute dog named Taylor, a curly coated retriever. Here she is retrieving her bumper. (I think it's okay to post the picture now, as it's not likely the person it's going to will find my blog.)

The drawing is 8 x 10" in graphite on Bristol. I'm told Taylor is an active dog with a great zest for life. She sure looks it to me.
